If you have little kids in the house, chances are cleaning up after their playtime might just be a tad tedious for you to take. That is why it is a must that you designate one single room or a specific part of the house for the children to play in. Making a playroom out of their bedrooms might just not be a good idea, it is best to reserve that portion of the house for resting, studying or sleeping only. Maybe you can convert one of your guestrooms to be a temporary play area and relocate all your children’s toys there, yes including those colorful 3d puzzles your youngest tend to leave just about anywhere. If not, you can always allow them to play in the living room or the den, just make sure to keep anything breakable out of their reach and provide a closet or a big box where they can stash all their toys away every time they are done playing, that way they can participate in cleaning up and you have one less mess to worry about!

Mommy Job
Being a mother to little children really entails a lot of hard work. Not only would you have to be a teacher and a tutor at the same time, a peace-maker and a diplomat even when you wanted to have a well-deserved breakdown or throw a fit of your own. You also have to be a walking convenience store with loads of magic, which could include candies or chocolates or a few tiny toy soldiers or a bubble machine, up on your sleeves, to keep the kiddos entertained during long travels. Apart from that, you also need to be up on your toes keeping them safe all the time making sure they never bump into anything hard or slip into something while playing like there’s no tomorrow in the living room. And do not forget, you have to be on your guard all the time taking those cleaner jobs as seriously as you can cleaning up after them.
Spring cleaning
I did some spring cleaning at home, and it was quite liberating to accomplish so much in just two days. I completed 90% of my pre-Holy Week to-do list!
My older kids finally let go of their childhood items, including magazines and stuffed toys. While disposing of these huggable toys, I felt a bit sentimental, so I set aside some of them and kept them hidden until I have a cabinet to display them in permanently.
Do you remember these toys? My kids finally bid them goodbye. I decided to give a sack full of toys to the grandchildren of the old lady who did our laundry for over eight years.
In addition to toys, I also gave away some old clothes, bags, and shoes to Manang. The remaining items are scheduled to be sent to their new owners in General Santos City, mostly my husband’s young nieces and nephews.
I also got rid of stacks of papers, pamphlets, and magazines that had accumulated over the years while I was still working. I kept some documents that I think might be helpful for future blog posts.
While nursing a bad stomach, I completed the cleaning in two days. Although I still have some cabinets to clear out and laminate flooring to install this week, I’m happy to say that my home is less chaotic now.
