In retrospect on my birthday

It will be my birthday a few days from now.  At this stage of my life, I only wish for simple things, good health and more years to see through my children raise their own family.  I may not be that old, but there are health issues that need to be addressed to achieve a life that I wish for. While I’m working on my personal health goals, I’m trying to steer clear of unpleasant things, situations, and even people that would bring out unnecessary stress.

Me time is all that I ask for my birthday.  I just want to stay at home and enjoy watching new shows on Netflix. I want to free my mind of worries for a moment while lounging on the couch or lie in bed with that super soft Foam By Mail cushion. (In retrospect, the closed cell foam sheets in our bed have also helped a lot in easing out the muscle and joint pains.)

Cheers to 49!

Rewarding the Extra-Special Stay at Home Mom in Your Life This Holiday Season

Being a stay at home mom is not easy. If the kids are babies they deal with diapers, crying, feeding, errands, etc. As the kids get older they’re usually responsible for transporting everybody from place to place as well as maintaining the household on a daily basis. Not even after their kids leave home does their job end. Many career mothers will be nurturing for life. So this holiday season say thanks to anyone in your life who is an extra hard working stay at home mom. Here are some great ideas to show them how much they truly mean to you.

spa

Schedule a Spa Day

There are few things in the world that can compare to a complete spa day package. Depending on your budget, you can treat them to a full day unlimited treatment deal, or look for something that charges per hour and pay for a couple hours. Look for local spas online to find what works best for you. When you pay for it, don’t forget to include gratuities so that she has nothing to worry about when she goes on HER day!

Treat Her to a Romantic Night Out

If she is a stay at home mom, she would appreciate the gesture of a night out every now and then. What better time than the romantic holiday season? Get dressed up, pay for her makeup and hair, make reservations somewhere fancy or possibly go to a restaurant you haven’t been to in a while. Whatever you come up with, she’s sure to like it if you make the night all about her!

Let Her Get Away

Talk to some of her girlfriends secretly and see if they can plan a weekend for them all to get away. It will be nice for her to get some time with her friends and away from the family. Sometimes all moms want is a little space so help make it happen. It may take some secrecy and planning, but you can pull it off if you really really try!

Time for yourself

You’ll get your hands full in a few days because it’s back to school season again. You’ll wake up early to cook and prepare the kids for school. You may catch a few minutes to an hour of sleep when the kids are at school, but you can only do this after cleaning and tidying up the house. Will you have time for yourself? Of course, you do. It’s a matter of time management (as my friends always say).

After the cleaning is done, you can put in a movie to watch, or enjoy the book that you’ve been planning to read while listening to the soothing sound in the background. You don’t need to buy Behringer instruments to enjoy a great sound within the confines of your own home. You can run errands and get yourself a little something. You can fix your favorite food, too if you are in the mood to cook. You can add a lot of other activities to your list. The possibilities are endless.
